The International Admissions Office reached out to our Ambassadors about talking to Ritsumeikan Students. This time we got a response from one of our ISA, Wendy. She conducted a short survey with fellow students at Osaka Ibaraki Campus (OIC) about their favorite food at the Cafeteria. As a student from Community and Regional Policy Studies Major (CRPS), she launched her own survey and here are the results, continue to read on.

This survey was conducted in 2020 by Zijing LU (Wendy), Community and Regional Policy Studies, 4th Year, 2020, International Student Ambassador
Zijing LU (Wendy), Community and Regional Policy Studies Major (CRPS), conducted online interviews to a total of 28 Chinese students in CRPS Major from the OIC Campus (Osaka-Ibaraki Campus), to learn about their favorite OIC Cafeteria food and also their opinions and suggestions to OIC Cafeteria.
Based on their answers, I made the ranking list of top 10 popular OIC Cafeteria food among Chinese students.
Ranking List of Top 10 Popular OIC Cafeteria Food among Chinese Students
Ranked No. 1: Fried Chicken
Ranked No. 2 : Ramen Noodle
Ranked No. 3 : Curry Rice
As shown in the table, the top 3 popular food are fried chicken, ramen, curry rice and pork cutlet rice bowl (together rank the 3rd).
Although the most popular food is fried chicken, some students also express the opinion that there are lots of fried food supplied in OIC Cafeteria. They hope to eat more food cooked in the healthier ways (ex: steamed dishes and stewed food).
Regarding the suggestion for improving the menu, many Chinese students wish OIC Cafeteria would increase more Chinese cuisines, and add more kinds of desserts and side dishes for them to choose.
While for the services and dining environment of OIC Cafeteria, most students feel the time of waiting in line is long, which takes up much lunch time, from 12:10 to 13:00. (This feedback was commented on Fall Semester 2019)
They think the dining area is not big enough. It is difficult to find seats during lunch time.
They hope the university can extend OIC Cafeteria and add more seats to improve the current situation.
